ElectraJet
Assembly
Ok the first modification I did was to the nose with a
1/4 wood dowel. This seems to be the one major weakness I have seen mentioned
several times in the message groups.
Here is the stock nose..

It is evident that the very front of the nose doesn't
have much support for a hard nose in landing.
So I drilled a hole on the underside of the tip of the
nose and then drilled back to where the foam structure has more support at about
a 25 degrees upward angle. This is so I could support the core of the foam in this
area.

I then used a 6" long piece of 1/4" round wood dowel and inserted
that into the
drilled out area, marked it for length and angle. I will need to cut dowel
at an angle to give it a nice flat surface area after it is glued in.

Notice the almost 45 degree angle on the end of the dowel to have
it set flush..
Mixing up some 6 minute epoxy, I heavily coated the
wood dowel and inserted into my pre-made hole.

And here is what the finished nose support looks like.
A Little sanding and a sticker and no will ever know it's there, all but you
when you make a hard landing and the nose is still intact.

Also as far as adding any weight, well I checked the
weight of the
fuselage before and after the modification and this bracing only added about 2 grams
of
weight to the plane. That's half the weight of a nickel.
